About me

March 9th, 2013 by Michel Fiora

Dear Guest!

As you could notice, my great passion is photography which I practise whenever I have some time left. At the moment, I work and live in Ticino, the italian speaking part of Switzerland close to the italian border with my little family who supports me in my activities.

I am an enthusiastic amateur and this hobby started in 2003 with the purchase of my first DSLR camera, a CANON EOS 300D. Pretty soon after, I got some very nice lenses which in return required a more powerfull camera. Within a couple of months I upgraded to a CANON 10D which provided my with excellent pictures for half a decade. before replacing it by the 60D model. Last year, this adventure really took off with the acquisition of my longtime desired fullframe camera, the brandnew CANON 5D mark III. I still shoot some wildlife pictures with my CANON 60D.

If I always exercised with a Canon DSLR, it is simply because I started with this brand and built up my range of lenses and other accessories accordingly, making it difficult to change. I cannot tell the difference with other brands. Though I believe that there is not much difference between all this competition. But I must say that I am very happy with my equipement!

All my pictures are shot in raw mode and developped afterwards in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, using sometimes for some experimental reasons the Adobe Photoshop CS6. I also use this software to stitch photos together to a panorama.

I created this website in order to share some of my pictures with my family, friends and also to some potential customer interested in acquiring a picture now and then...allowing me to finance my lenses.

This exciting adventure started not so long ago and the road to reach a certain level is still long and stony. This is also the reason why I call it casual photography. If you would like to comment my work or provide me some suggestions, do not hesitate to drop me a note via the contact form.

Thank you also for visiting my site and I hope that you enjoy it.

To be continued...
